Martel, Somersworth, N.H., 18 size, 17 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, checkerboard damascened, two tone nickel plate movement, with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and whiplash micrometric regulator, in a yellow gold filled, engine turned and engraved open face case, with Arabic numeral, outer red 5-minute marker, double sunk, white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #1950890, c1910
CONDITION: CASE: Dings and pin pricks; back with shallow dent; Scratches on outer surface of case; Scratches on inner surface of case and cuvette; Engine turning / engraving with moderate wear; Gold filled with minor brassing; Bow worn to brass and with dings; Crown worn. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, light, 2:00; Flakes in enamel concealed by bezel; Scratches minor to dial; Figures on seconds bit with wear; Specks of dirt / dust. HANDS: Replaced minute, hour with bends. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Balance cock screw and regulator spring with spot of oxidation; Specks of dirt, oily; Two tone finish and gold plating on steel in good condition overall. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
